Farm Tomita is a world a famous attraction site and one of the best place to go in Japan. Located in Nakafurano town of Hokkaido Prefecture, this flower field is popular for its stunning lavender and other seasonal flower fields.
It is one of the largest lavender farm around Furano, Hokkaido which has nine to twelve flower fields.
Because of the breathtaking beauty of this location, it is a well known spot for photographers and already premiered by various well known companies.
Apart from beautiful purple Lavenders on the Lavender field, there are over 90 other seasonal flower plants including Poppies, Baby’s breath/Gypsophilas, Silene armerias, Red Salvias that can be seen at other fields including popular Irodori field. These flowers planted in rows which creates a pleasant colorful flowerbed.
Lavenders from the farm are used to produce various things such as flavored ice cream, additives for fragrances, perfumes and more.
There are shops and cafes on the premises where you can enjoy popular lavender themed ice cream, potpourri and buy fashionable amenities.
How to visit this farm?
From Ashahikawa Airport by car it takes about 40 minutes to reach the farm. By bus and then train it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. By bus and train it is about 700 yen one way.
There is a 20 minutes foot walk from Nakafurano Station to the farm. If you use taxi from Nakafurano Station to reach the farm, it takes 5 minutes and costs about 800 yen.
From Sapporo it is between 6 hours and 7 hours by train and bus. Cost is between 6000 yen and 7000 yen one way without Taxi from Nakafurano Station.
Farm Tomita – Entry Fees and Address
The admission fee to enter the farm is free. There are 500 parking slots and parking is free. The farm opens at 8:30~9:00 and closes at 17:00. The farm is closed during Winter season.

When to visit Farm Tomita?
Summer is the best season to visit the farm. While you can enjoy seasonal flowers from April to September, the Lavender blooming season is between late June and early August. The best time for seeing lavender fields is in middle of July since it is the peak growth time for lavenders.
Some Handy Tips
Make sure to check the weather forecast before visiting the farm. A sunny day with less to no cloud is the perfect day to enjoy the flower fields to its fullest.
Go there between 11:00 and 14:00 to get the best possible experience and superb view under sunlight. Cloudy weather is not recommended unless you have no other options.
