Nachi Falls In Wakayama | Stunning Sacred Site

Nachi Falls is the tallest waterfall and a famous place to go in Japan. It is located inside a majestic primeval forest in Nachikatsuura town of Wakayama prefecture. This place is part of UNESCO World Heritage sacred sites.

This 13 meters wide waterfall is famous for its distinctive nature of having 133 meters long uninterrupted drop and being the home of Shinto dynasty.

How to visit this waterfall?

From Kii-Katsuura station it takes about 15 minutes by car to reach the spot. By train and then bus it takes about 30 minutes. By train and bus it is 630 yen one way.

From Osaka it takes about 4 hours and 20 minutes by car. By bus and then train it takes about 4 hours and 45 minutes to reach the spot. By train and bus it is between 7500 yen and 11000 yen one way.

Nachi Falls – Entry Fees and Address

You can enjoy the scenic beauty of the waterfall directly from Hirou Shrine free of charge. However, for a closer look from the basin you have to pay 300 yen per person. The location opens at 7:30 and closes at 16:00. Parking is not free.
